I would like to say that although this hostel is cheap (15USD/night), the quality it offered is very poor. It was my worst hostel experience.

• The 6-bed room is very small, the size is roughly 3 single bed size. With its 3-layer beds, none can sit up-right in his own beds.
• The hostel does not have lock on the door, which means whoever have entrance to the hostel have entrance to your room.
• There are only two shower facility in the hostel, one of which does not offered hot water. The staff said that it will be repaired ASAP, but after 4 nights of stay the hot water was still broken
• The hostel staff would chat loudly in the counter, just outside our room at 11PM, which is very annoying
  

And finally, on the day we left the hostel (6/07 8:00AM), when we open the door, we found about 15 Japanese police standing outside the hostel talking with the staff with certificates for searching the hostel at their hands. They even check all our passports before letting us leave the hostel. I asked the police what happened, and he just said "There are some problems with the two hostel owners, that's why we were here".

Do you ever want to stay in a really tiny hostel with chances to meet Japanese police? If yes, then Osaka Downtown Hostel would surely be your first choice!
